PHANSIT’S KITCHEN is delighted to receive a Silver in the restaurant catagory for Devon's Taste of The West Awards 2009. Situated at the top of Bideford High Street by the Pannier Market, offers authentic Thai food cooked to order from an exciting open plan kitchen. Opened in January 2008, Phansit's is a poplular venue with a loyal customer base.

The chef/owner, Phansit, is a native of Thailand where he provided family favourites to the tourists. He worked as a chef in Central London for 10 years before deciding to bring the high standards of a restaurant to a friendly and relaxed bistro atmosphere in Bideford. Open for evening meals the menu is extensive with tasty starters, main courses, curries, noodles and rice dishes. There is something to suit all tastes and those who are not keen on chilli will be delighted with subtly flavoured dishes.

Phansit excells in the preparation of fresh, locally sourced fish, meat and vegetables and demonstrates his talent and flexiblity on the ever changing specials board. This is where customers will also find the fusion dishes, which are created by blending Thai and European ingredients using his talent and understanding of flavours.

With the exception of the specialist Thai items, Phansit is committed to sourcing all produce used in his kitchen locally. His commitment to high quality ingredients has had him scouring the countryside, visiting farms and extensive testing at home. All dishes are hand made on the premises.

All together the food, atmosphere and views make a visit to Phansit’s Kitchen well worth the walk up the hill!
